North Shore's fully equipped Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week to care for injuries and illness. 

Backed by the full resources of the hospital,  the Emergency Department is staffed by physicians and nurses with specialized training.  Our advanced technologies help provide quality diagnostic and treatment capabilities, helping us to treat lfie-threatening conditions such as heart attack and stroke as well as providing surgical care.

Fast Track Service  11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Seven Days A Week

North Shore's Fast Track Service, within our Emergency Department, takes care of  minor emergencies requiring urgent care.  Fast Track Service is an alternative to the regular Emergency Department, where treatment is determined on the severity of a patient's conditiion.

Fast Track is designed to treat patients who need immediate attention for small emergencies such as lacerations, sprains, fractures, bruises, scratches, sore throats, ear infections and minor rashes.  Patients are referred to Fast Track  through the regular Emergency Department and registered at bedside to save time.  Average time from triage to discharge is about 60 to 90 minutes.
