RNs Honored As Nurse Of The Year Recipients 

CEO Manny Linares and other staff members honor Kelly Behrmann, R.N., and Terri Wright-Walker, R.N, as Nurse of the Year recipients. 

MIAMI, Fla. – Manny Linares, CEO of North Shore Medical Center, has named Kelly Behrmann, and Terri Wright-Walker, as Nurse of the Year recipients. Both Terri and Kelly are registered nurses who work in the hospital’s Mother/Baby unit AS Assistant Nurse Managers.

Terri and Kelly were honored during National Nurses Week/National Hospital and Healthcare Week during festivities that commemorates the annual salute to nurses and healthcare workers each May.

Kelly and Terri have been at North Shore Medical Center for a combined 29 years. They both started as staff nurses and were promoted to assistant nurse managers. In their roles, they have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, commitment and dedication.

"To say that Kelly and Terri exceed the expectations of everyone would be an understatement," said Manny Linares, CEO. "They both embrace their role as clinical leaders with passion and lead by example. They have outstanding work ethics and values, great customer service skills, interact with patients and families with care and compassion, and have built outstanding physician relationships and provide excellent clinical care."

Kelly and Terri are the embodiment of what it means to work as a team. When asked what it is that makes them work together so well, they jokingly say, "We share one brain!"

Both Kelly and Terri are also recipients of this year’s Tenet Heroes awards.

Nurse of the Year candidates are nominated based on specific criteria in various categories such as:

Professionalism – attendance, compassion, caring, commitment to co-workers, excellent attitude, excellent follow-thru, responds to needs in a timely manner.

Technical Abilities – clinical knowledge, able to answer questions about the condition of the patient at all times, excellent clinical skills.
