CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION CLASS
Childbirth Education classes are held in English, Spanish, and Creole.
Our free Prepared Childbirth Class series is designed for first time parents in their second trimester of pregnancy. Topics will include anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, stages of labor, comfort techniques of labor, Caesarean birth, and breast feeding. A tour will also be included. Parents need to bring two (2) pillows and a blanket or a mat to class.
The Childbirth Class is held in the auditorium off the main lobby entrance. To register for class, please call 1-800-984-3434.
2010 ENGLISH CHILDBIRTH CLASS SCHEDULE
Childbirth classes in English are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Series of four classes.
Series starts: Wednesday, August 11 through Wednesday, September 1.
Series starts: Wednesday, October 13 through Wednesday, November 3.

Childbirth classes in Spanish are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Series of four classes.

Series starts: Tuesday, October 26 through Tuesday, November 16.

Childbirth classes in Creole are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Series of four classes.

HOSPITAL TOURS FOR NEW EXPECTING PARENTS
Hospital maternity tours are held for new expecting parents on a monthly basis. We offer daytime and evening tours. Daytime tours are offered from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Evening tours are offered from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Maternity tours in Spanish are offered at 7:30 p.m. The maternity tours meet in the main lobby area of the hospital. BREASTFEEDING CLASS
This breastfeeding class is designed to increase mom's knowledge of breastfeeding techniques, discussion on the benefits of breastfeeding. Classes are offered in English, Spanish, and Creole. To learn more, call 1-800-984-3434.
The breastfeeding class is taught by a board certified lactation consultant. Breastfeeding class will be held in Auditorium B off the main lobby unless otherwise noted.

INFANT MASSAGE CLASS
This class will introduce parents to infant massage and teach them how to comfort their newborn with massage strokes. The class lasts approximately ninety minutes, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Please call 1-800-984-3434 to learn more.

HEALTHY MOMS POWERSTROLL
This class is a high intensity workout that uses your stroller taught by a Certified Perinatal Fitness Instructor. You will do fat burning, strength training and stretching exercises using the stroller for balance and resistance. It's not just a walk in the park!
